Insurance companies IVASS non life and life income down by 54

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – In the first half of 2022, total life and non-life premium income decreased by 5.4% compared to the same period last year to 73.6 billion euros. It makes it known IVASS.

In particular, premium income from the life sector, equal to 52.9 billion, marks a decrease of 9.2%. The new production of the sector stands at 36.2 billion (-14). The reduction in premium income affected all the main distribution channels (-7.3% at bank and post office branches, -19.9% ​​through financial advisors and -13.3% at mandated agencies). Life business for pension purposes increased by 4.6% (3.2 billion).

Premium income in the non-life sector instead increased by 5.9% to 20.7 billion. All the main non-motor classes are growing, while the motor sector continues to contract (-2.0% in the motor liability sector). More than 68.7% of non-life collection is made by mandated agencies (85.5% for motor liability policies); the other distribution channels show increases except for the so-called “other forms of direct sales” (telephone and Internet).
