After having inaugurated a torrent of novelties for the voice messages of WhatsApp, Meta attacks the messaging of Instagram and offers it several improvements.
Now it shows a notification at the top of the screen while you browse when a new message is received. Even better, you can respond directly to the latter by tapping on it to deploy the virtual keyboard of your smartphone, a system similar to what iOS natively offers with its notifications.
Meta also wants to make the sharing process in Instagram easier. The application now displays a share button grafted right next to the buttons to like and comment on a publication. A long press on it allows you to share the content viewed with your closest contacts.
In addition, at the top of your inbox, the application displays in a carousel the list of online contacts with whom you can interact.
New features in conversations
Instagram is also introducing several new features directly into conversations. The application now benefits from an integration of Apple Music, Amazon Music, and soon Spotify to allow you to easily share an extract of about thirty seconds of your favorite songs.
You can also send silent missives to your friends, by adding in your message the shortcut @silent as is already possible on Messenger. Finally, you have the choice to sweeten your conversations by using the new Lo-Fi graphic theme and even the possibility of polling your friends’ opinion by creating and submitting a poll to them.
