The Environment and Health Protection Board found an “extensive amount of insects” when they checked the store in Jönköping, which sells food, among other things. That is what the committee at Jönköping Municipality writes in the report.
In addition to the insects, it was also discovered that the temperature of the store’s freezers deviated from the legal requirement. The temperature of the freezer in the warehouse was measured at around five degrees below zero, while the legal requirement is that deep-frozen food must be stored at eighteen degrees below zero. Among other things, chicken was stored in the freezer.
Follow-up
The shop owner stated during the inspection that they should immediately clean the premises and contact their pest control company. They were also told to go through all the packaging and throw away any that might be infested with insects. The Environmental and Health Protection Board must follow up if the store complies with the legal requirements during the week.
