Insanely funny action hit with Brad Pitt and the next

Sit a dozen assassins on a Japanese train … This is how a really stupid joke could start. Or a really entertaining, superbly choreographed action film. In this case, fortunately, the latter is the case. Because we’re gathered here today to talk about jaw-dropping fights, Brad Pitt, and the next Spider-Man villain.

Bullet Train takes its name from the super-fast Shinkansen train. In this very Japanese train there are wonderfully cramped conditions for an exciting and absurd – and perhaps also riddled with bullets – Action comedy that definitely travels first class. And which you can stream on Netflix from today.

In Bullet Train, Brad Pitt must survive a deadly train ride with a slew of assassins

Ladybug (Pitt) isn’t quite as cuddly as the ladybug he’s named after. He is a paid killer, and right now he’s getting paid to get on the Shinkansen and finish a new job. He has no idea that not only the object of his professional desire – a harmless-looking suitcase – but also several other murderers are waiting in this film.

More on the subject of film:

Ladybug just wants to get everything over with quickly because he’s actually striving for a more peaceful life. He wants to put good things out into the world in order to get good things back. But what he gets on board the train is not just a good beating. Not just two either. Because here he is in the middle of the chaos of different motivations, orders and killers.

These include, for example, the “brothers” Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry) and Tangerine (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), the nasty Hornet (Zazie Beetz) and Kimura (Andrew Koji). Soon Ladybug no longer knows which way is up and which is down. Although he doesn’t want anything to do with the whole thing, he has to pull out all the stops to get out of this mess alive Sardine can full of dangers to come out.

In Bullet Train on Netflix, Brad Pitt and Spider-Man villain Aaron Taylor-Johnson prove how brilliant they really are

Bullet Train has one thing above all else: a ridiculously brilliant cast. Without exception, each of their members is clearly having the time of their lives here. Nobody is afraid of bringing characters to life that are in their own right absurdity shouldn’t work at all. And yet they do, and the entertainment value created under the direction of Deadpool 2 creator David Leitch is enormous.

Above all, Pitt shines, who has rarely proven so well why he should actually act in comedies more often. His confused Ladybug stumbles from one impossible situation to the next and his reaction to this constant mess is always overwhelmed hilarious. The good man just wants everything Zen and be peaceful! Honest!

But the screen brothers Lemon and Tangerine are also worth their weight in gold. Taylor-Johnson in particular shows off his debut as Spider-Man villain Kraven the Hunter on the one hand enormous talent for great action (in picture book fight choreographies worth seeing) and on the other hand an unexpectedly funny streak.

When the brothers casually talk about Thomas the Tank Engine in a Tarantino-esque way while they’re murdering, you have to be very humorless not to have fun. So everyone involved stirs colorful confetti into their action-packed blood soup, sprinkles some anime glitter on top and in the end everything escalates all at once wonderfully fast-paced high-speed finale.

Anyone who wants to indulge in this rush of action and speed can do so from today with a streaming subscription on Netflix.
