(Finance) – TheInps he made it known that starting from today and until 31 March it is possible to submit the application to obtain the “Bonus for separated, divorced and/or non-cohabiting parents”. In a note, the Institute recalls that the measure – aimed at guaranteeing a contribution to separated parents in need who have not received maintenance due to non-compliance of the other parent (ex-spouse or ex-cohabitant) – is linked to the reduction in income as a result of emergency epidemiological from COVID-19.
In particular, the bonus is due to parents separated with a income not exceeding 8,174 euros, who during the emergency period were living with minors or adults with serious disabilities and who, in the same period, had their maintenance allowance reduced in part or in whole due to the cessation, reduction or suspension of their work activity of the other parent required to pay maintenance starting from 8 March 2020 for a minimum duration of ninety days. The bonus is also due if the parent is required to maintenance has suffered a reduction in income of at least 30 percent compared to the income received in 2019.
There request to access the benefit, it must be presented to INPS by the parent who has not received all or part of the maintenance payment, after authentication on the Institute portal, through the specific service “Contribution for separated or divorced parents to guarantee continuity of the disbursement of the maintenance allowance”, available in the “Access point to non-pension benefits“.
The benefit will be paid by INPS following verification of the legal requirements by the Department for Family Policies and subject to availability of the fund which amounts to 10 million euros. The payment will be paid by INPS in aonly solution in an amount equal to the unpaid amount of the maintenance allowance and up to a maximum of 800 euros per month and for a maximum of twelve months.
