In the prestigious setting of the Axica Congress Center in Berlinin front of an audience of leading representatives of the international railway industry, MERMEC announced the closing of the acquisition of signalling activities of the main lines in France and signaling businesses in Germany and the United Kingdom by Hitachi Rail and Korea.
An operation that marks a important strategic step to consolidate further enhance MERMEC’s position in the railway signalling sector, with particular attention to ERTMS systems (European Rail Traffic Management System), becoming the fourth world player.
Following this acquisition, the company was established MERMEC GERMANYbased in Munich, which will have a key role in operations management and participation in strategic projects throughout the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
