The medieval themed strategy game Inkulinati, which entered early access, is an independent game where you can have a good time despite its difficulties.
We are faced with a very, very different game. Inkulinati in early access from Yaza Games is a new rogue-lite strategy game built on medieval art. The strategy game Inkulinati, which is about the middle ages, has been a cure for my problems these days when I was tired of action games.
Strategy game Inkulinati early access review
To be frank, I didn’t have a bit of a heart attack until I solved the game, but I said that the end of patience is peace and continued on my way. As I said, Inkulinati is a different game. In the game, we have heroes called Inkulinati and we manage their duels. You can think of turn-based construction a bit like chess. Our aim is to take down our opponent, while countering our opponent’s soldiers.
You start Inkulinati with a training section. I say I’m glad they put it in, because as I wrote above, it was a bit difficult for me to solve the game at first. In this section, you learn how to place your soldiers on the field using the icons at the bottom of the screen, how your hero draws them into the field (yes, it’s not a typo, it includes your soldier on the battlefield by drawing) and the mechanics.
We need to protect our Inkulinati and take down our opponent by using our soldiers such as dogs, rabbits and donkeys. Each animal has its own special weapon. It’s like the rabbit is shooting arrows while the dog is holding a spear. From what I’ve told you, don’t think of it as an action game. Because it is a production designed entirely on your strategy.
When starting the duel, you have to place each of your soldiers in a certain position in the field so that you can make your moves correctly. For example, when I first started, I thought of taking my archer forward and lowering the rival soldiers when they approached me. However, I soon realized that this was an extremely wrong move.
When you start, you have an army of three. One of them is you. However, as you progress, you create different tactics by discovering new abilities and soldiers. By making various combos together with your army that develops over time, you unlock various weapons and creatures that can be found even more advanced and quite entertaining. For example, the donkey has a weapon that takes up the whole screen: the fart.
In addition to your soldiers, you can use your Inkulinati with greater powers to push or hit the enemies from the page. Using these powers at the right time and against the right opponent is very important for the accuracy of your strategy. When you use it to protect a soldier, you may miss the chance to destroy the counter Inkulinati, or if you use it to defend yourself with a lot of health, you may lose your soldiers and advance to absolute defeat.
This is because of how Inkulinati’s maps are set up. Each contains several horizontal lines with obstacles such as barrels or ladders to move between the stacks of lines. Every time a unit moves away from these lines, they are instantly killed; this includes smaller Inkulinati avatars that act as the player’s health bar and powerhouse during matches.
When we look at Ilkulinati, which was opened to early access, if we ignore its mistakes, it was a very successful production that provided a good time. While some mistakes you make during the game cause you to get angry, sometimes you can enter the “How did I beat you” mode. In these days when we give indie games a chance, on the Steam page first sentence construction will help you understand much better: “Inkulinati is an ink-based strategy game from medieval manuscripts where a rabbit’s butt can be more deadly than a dog’s sword”
The game, which is open to early access, will reach the full version in the coming days for PC, Nintendo Switch, XBox One, XBox Series X / S.
