It was around 5 o’clock this morning that neighbors heard a commotion from an apartment, and found an injured man in the stairwell.
Police and an ambulance were called to the scene, and the man, who is badly stabbed, was taken to hospital.
The police had a suspected perpetrator pointed out, and were able to arrest him nearby.
Technicians will now examine the cordoned-off crime scene, and the police have opened an investigation with the criminal classification of attempted murder.
