Inglot denies the crime – has a name at another home

Inglot denies the crime has a name at another

SD’s top name in Stockholm, Martin Inglot, 34, says that he lives and is registered with his mother in Botkyrka municipality.

But his name is written in three different places at a residence at Kungliga Djurgården.

– If it turns out that the information Inglot provided is not correct, it is of course very serious, says Fredrik Lindahl, district chairman of SD in Stockholm County.

Martin Inglot, SD’s group leader in Botkyrka, is being investigated by the police on suspicion of population registration offenses, something that Aftonbladet was able to reveal on Wednesday.

During the past term of office, Martin Inglot has according to Botkyrka municipality so far received 1,574,604 kronor in salary and equal fees for part-time service as SD’s group leader in the municipality – which he was not entitled to under the Municipal Act if he does not live in the municipality where he is elected. .

Martin Inglot himself says that he lives in Tumba, with his mother, despite the fact that he has a first-hand contract for an apartment on Östermalm.

The current apartment, which Martin Inglot believes he does not live in permanently, is located in Hjorthagen on Östermalm. The apartment is located near the water by a popular running and walking path.

The name is written in three places at the second address

Martin Inglot’s name is written in three places at the Östermalm address: on a mailbox at the property’s entrance, next to the lift on a digital screen that shows all residents in the house and on the door to an apartment.

The rents at the address are around SEK 15,000–20,000 per month. The politician has, according to the police, had the contract since 1 August 2018 and he has paid rent from his account since then.

SD’s district chairman: “Very serious”

Aftonbladet has asked the Sweden Democrats what they think about Inglot’s population registration. Fredrik Lindahl, district chairman of SD in Stockholm County, responds via email.

– It is important that you follow the regulations and live where you are written. After the investigation has been completed, we will be able to take a clearer position on this. Should it turn out that the information Inglot provided is incorrect, it is of course very serious, he writes.

Botkyrka municipality may also take measures aimed at Martin Inglot after Aftonbladet’s revelation.

“If a member of the municipal council changes residence to another municipality and there can be assumed to spend his daily rest regularly, the assignment will cease immediately,” writes Botkyrka municipality’s secretary general Thomas Jansson in an email to Aftonbladet.

A possible measure for the municipality will now be to contact the Sweden Democrats:

“What can be done, in the event of suspicion that a member of the municipal council does not live in the municipality, is that the party to which the member belongs is contacted and notified of the suspicion,” the chief of staff writes.

Is number one on SD’s election list

Martin Inglot receives SEK 35,750 a month for his part-time job for the party. In addition, there are other separate fees for meetings of the municipal board and the municipal council. At the same time, Martin Inglot also has a 67 percent position as political secretary in Upplands Väsby, where he earns just over 30,000 a month.

When Martin Inglot on Tuesday took part in the Swedish Tax Agency’s documentation and received tips that he signed up in Tumba to “shoehorn himself in politician money”, he told Aftonbladet:

– No, that’s not true.

Ahead of the election this autumn, Martin Inglot is number one on the Sweden Democrats’ list for the Stockholm Region and number one on the SD list for the local elections in Botkyrka.
