They are two of Swedish sports’ biggest giants.
That’s why it was so incredibly powerful when both were united on Swedish television.
Then Ingemar Stenmark had an emotional confession to Peter Forsberg.
Both have dominated their sport on their own and written unforgettable sports history in Sweden. Ingemar Stenmark was clearly the pioneer and the one that all Swedish athletes looked up to, he paved the way for so many after him and showed that you can conquer the world as a Swede.
Stenis & Foppa
“Stenis” is not only one of Swedish sports’ greatest, but one of the skiing world’s greatest of all time with his two Olympic golds, five World Cup golds and above all 86 World Cup victories during his career. 17 years younger Peter Forsberg is today regarded as one of the world’s best hockey players of all time.

“Foppa” won everything there is to win except for that SC gold with Modo and a selection of his track record shows two Olympic golds, two World Cup golds, two Stanley Cup titles and a lot of individual awards on top of that. That’s why it was so incredibly powerful when Stenmark and Forsberg were brought together in the SVT program “Master of Masters”.

Stenmark’s words
It was in 2018 that both giants squared off against each other on Swedish television, but aside from the competitions, it was pure pleasure to just listen when they talked to each other. During a chat, the usually hot-tempered Foppa asks the usually calm Stenis if he’s ever been cursed.
– Yes, of course you were annoyed many times, but I don’t show it as much as you do, Stenmark admits in the TV program.
– But I had no one else to get angry at, it was my fault if things went wrong.

Both legends then meet in the opinion that they took their career far too seriously and therefore forgot to enjoy their time at the top. Stenmark then makes an emotional confession to Forsberg.
– I feel that I have missed out on being able to have fun with sports. I think I lived a lot on the joy of driving. I liked the nature and the feeling on the snow, I got inspiration, says the skiing icon in SVT.

Peter Forsberg then responds in the most beautiful way and admits his great admiration for Ingemar Stenmark.
– You should know that you are a great idol and you have been a fantastic role model, says Foppa in Mästarnas mäster.
