But now Ingemar Stenmark is forced to give up and make a decisive life decision.

The name Ingemar Stenmark comes with the greatest respect. He is one of the great giants of Swedish sports and has been immensely popular for such a long time.
Stenmark’s career
To this day, people talk about how “Sweden stood still” when Stenmark went down the hill and he changed Swedish sport forever. “Stenis'” incredible 86 World Cup victories was also for a long time an unbeaten record in alpine skiing, but it was broken earlier this year by Mikaela Shiffrin.

Today Ingemar Stenmark is 67 years old and in recent years he has been doing a completely different sport than skis, boots and poles. Instead, the icon got behind the wheel and competed in the Porsche Sprint Challenge – and really loved it.

But now Stenmark is forced to make a decisive life decision and is unfortunately forced to give up motorsport.
– If I had been 30 years younger, then I would have absolutely continued. I miss the Sprint Challenge, but everything has its time, says Ingemar in an interview with SportExpressen.

But he will not get rid of his interest in motoring and these days the Alpine legend has been in France to see the 100th anniversary of the classic 24-hour race in Le Mans.
– I am happy that I had the chance to try motorsport and the Sprint Challenge. Likewise, Le Mans is fantastic, even if I don’t feel really comfortable with so many people around, he tells the evening newspaper.

Now that Ingemar Stenmark has said goodbye to motorsport, one is of course curious as to what he will come up with next to find excitement in life as a pensioner. The 67-year-old now gives an answer to that question.
– As far as new challenges are concerned, I haven’t really decided. Age and body determine a lot. I have no problem with getting older, but I have a hard time accepting that I can’t train as much as I want because of the risk of injury, says Stenis in the interview.
