Infrastructures, Salvini: ok to the Procurement Code by March

Infrastructure Salvini visits the Mantua area inspections of the construction

(Finance) – The Minister of Infrastructure Matthew Salvini carried out an inspection this morning at the construction site of the roundabout of the Bergamo A4 tollbooth. Before meeting the local representatives, he also took stock of the situation with the President of the Province Pasquale Gandolfi, the mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Gori, the regional councilor for Infrastructure and Transport Claudia Terzi.

“The connection between Orio al Serio and Bergamo is so important and so urgent that it must be done. Even if I know that on this, as well as on other interventions, not everyone is in agreement and there is some debate. But it is my duty to be here and listen, as I did last weekend with the administrators of Mantua, Cremona and Pavia.” Salvini said

“With Anas and RFI we have established an excellent relationship: in this 2023 Anas alone will launch 3 billion euro of construction sites, which correspond to more than 50,000 jobs. I realize that Lombardy, not so much because I’m from Lombardy but because it is the economic heart of the country, has a significant part of these investments. Then we need the Olympics to speed up some works that would otherwise go in slow motion”.

The Minister also said that work is underway “to a Procurement Code that will be approved by March 31, where the protection of local businesses is a national public procurement reserve for small and medium-sized enterprises will be an important node. So the deadlines will be respected.”
“I thank Lombardy Region and for Bergamo and province has invested more than one hundred million euros – he added -. We’re trying to race with Anas, the same with the commissioners for some infrastructure related to the Olympics: they’ve been three months well spent”.

As for the restoration of the Provinces with full powers is “a goal that we will pursue hand in hand with autonomy: autonomy means giving more powers to the territories, rewarding efficiencycutting waste and bureaucracy, and from this point of view reintroducing the Provinces with full dignity, elected by the citizens, with a president, with a junta, with councilors, employees, will be useful because the Province will go back to maintaining schools and roads and it is right that the citizens choose it,” said Salvini.
“I realize that this 2023 – he continued – is the year of the launch of the autonomies and the reintroduction of the province because an intermediate body is needed between a Bergamo municipality of a thousand inhabitants and the Lombardy Region of ten million inhabitants”.
