Protected information about a young person in need of care was leaked from the social service in Nordmaling municipality, reports Västerbottens-Kuriren.
The document, which was searchable on the internet, contained sensitive information such as social security numbers and contact details, both about the young person, the person’s parents and the caregiver.
The agreement on the person’s location and costs could also be found.
Although the municipality was alerted to the confidential information, the file remained visible online for over a month.
– It is serious when classified information is leaked or disclosed like this, it is not okay from our side as a business, so it is regrettable, it should not happen, says Johan Hellberg, unit manager for Individual and Family Care in Nordmaling Municipality to the newspaper.
The municipality has reported the incident to the Swedish Integration Protection Authority.
