Foreign ministers of NATO countries met at an informal meeting in Oslo, the capital of Norway, to discuss the preparations for the Vilnius Summit.
NATO foreign ministers met at the Royal Palace of King Harald V of Norway on the first day of the two-day meeting in Oslo, and then met again at the dinner hosted by Norwegian Foreign Minister Anne Beathe Tvinnereim at Akershus Fortress.
Tomorrow’s session of the informal meeting of foreign ministers will open at 10.30am with a speech by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
The agenda of the meeting is the preparations for the NATO Summit to be held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, on 11-12 July.
One of the key issues will be the development of NATO’s partnership with Ukraine. In addition, it will be discussed how the support given to Ukraine’s defense efforts and the plan for peace will continue.
Ambassador Levent Gümrükçü, Permanent Representative to NATO, represents Turkey at the meeting.
Although it is not among the official agenda items, the tension in Kosovo is also expected to be on the table.
