Inflation in the Eurozone falls to 43

(Finance) – The growth of inflation in the Eurozone is slowing. This is what emerges from the preliminary data of theEuropean Statistical Office (EUROSTAT)which published its flash inflation estimate this morning.

The trend figure marks +4.3% in September against +5.2% in the previous month and +4.5% of the consensus.

On a monthly basis, however, consumer prices recorded an increase of 0.3%, compared to +0.5% in the previous month.

Core inflation – which excludes energy, food and tobacco – is estimated at 4.5%, compared to 5.3% in the previous month and 4.8% of the consensus.

Harmonized inflation, excluding food and energy componentsis expected at 5.5% from +6.2% in the previous month.
