Inflation in the euro countries falls further

It is the second month in a row that consumer prices in the eurozone have fallen and it is the first time since August that inflation of less than ten percent has been measured.

The fact that energy prices in Europe slowed during the month of December was a factor that pushed back inflation.

However, the so-called core inflation, adjusted for energy prices among other things, rose to 5.2 percent from 5.0 percent in November.
