(Finance) – In 2023 inflation measured by the HICP indexi.e. harmonized price index, net of the price dynamics of imported energy goods, results equal to 6.9%a tenth of a point lower than to the estimate indicated last December equal to 7%. Istat communicates this, reporting that the deviation compared to 6.6% calculated on 7 June 2023 is equal to 0.3 points.
The indicator, which is a reference in contract renewals, highlights one largest deviation in 2022the year of the surge in inflation, in which the indicator is indicated in growth of 6.6%, up 2.1 points compared to the 4.7% estimated on June 7, 2022. The revision for the year 2021 is instead equal to 0.2 points to 0.7% from the estimated 0.5%.
Istat also indicates the forecast for the years 2024-2027signaling that inflation will bring to 1.9% in 2024 and 2% three years later. The estimate for the years 2024-2027 – explains the Institute – takes into account the methodological changes introduced in 2023 and is based on the technical hypotheses of stabilization of the import price of energy goods and the weight of energy goods in the HICP basket at current levels .
