Lucasfilm was not only represented at the D23 Expo this year with new Star Wars projects. Indiana Jones 5 also played an important role in the presentation. A visibly touched Harrison Ford presented the highly anticipated film along with franchise newcomer Phoebe Waller-Bridge on stage.
It wasn’t the only touching D23 moment regarding Indiana Jones, however. A short time later, two images took the internet by storm, showing Ford with his one-time co-star Ke Huy Quan. He was in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 38 years ago when Short round a.k.a shortie to see.

“I love you Indy”, the now 51-year-old Shorty actor comments on the reunion. Since then, the images have been shared countless times by fans on social media. Even Mark Hamill, who made several Star Wars films with Ford, is visibly touched and writes: “Reunited and it feels so good.”

For many fans, the question now arises: Will we Shorty in Indiana Jones 5 see? Quan’s return hasn’t been officially announced. The actor was present at D23 because he is part of the Loki season 2 cast. That’s fitting: Quan made his comeback with the multiverse adventure Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Indiana Jones 5 launches on June 29, 2022 in German cinemas. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Indy and Shorty will one day cross paths again on the big screen.
