Industry insider denounces streamers: “99% cheat and honest, hard workers are left behind”

The streamer Tyler “Trainwreckstv” Niknam (33) is a successful streamer, formerly on Twitch, now on Kick. He is now denouncing streamers: They are largely fraudsters who manipulate their viewer numbers using viewbots. Twitch in particular is the problem.

This is what Trainwreck says: Trainwreck responds to a post from Kick’s official account about how much money people make on Kick, somewhat annoyed (via X):

Extra money is good, but we need to do a better job of taking care of the people who cheat for attention by putting themselves at the top of any category or area.

We live in a time where viewbotters are rewarded and legitimate, hard-working streamers are left out.

Trainwreck was a leading gambling streamer before Twitch restricted gambling – German streamer Tanzverbot hates gambling.

Twitch streamer Tanzverbot talks about his difficult past and still regrets his lack of education

Viewbotters gain unfair advantages in visibility

What does he mean with that? Trainwreck has the following logic:

  • If you are looking for new streamers on Kick or Twitch, you will be suggested people who already have a lot of viewers. They are then the most visible in lists of streamers
  • Anyone who cheats by using viewbots to become “artificial viewers” will not earn any money themselves, but will be at the top of the lists and have an advantage over those streamers who do not use viewbots
  • His accusation certainly also implies that anyone who manipulates their figures is also more attractive for direct advertising bookings.
  • 99% of the people in the top 100 cheat

Who exactly does he have in mind? According to Trainwreck, botting is particularly prevalent on Twitch – the “monopolist” is the problem and must solve it.

  • According to Trainwreck, practically everyone is a cheater – except himself, of course, and “maybe 5 others”.
  • Otherwise everyone would cheat. He believes that 99% of the top 100 and the new wave of streamers are cheaters.
  • He particularly has members of the “FaZe” clan in his sights.

This is how Kick reacts: The platform agrees with Trainwreck: viewbotting is indeed a problem that every streaming platform has to deal with. They want to work on it.

How do you recognize viewbots? In general, streamers who have a lot of viewers but very little activity in the chat are suspicious.

The viewbots don’t necessarily have to come from the streamer. It could also be that they have fans who mean too well for “their streamer” and donate bots. Or, in a more perfidious way, someone could even try to harm streamers in this way.

Trainwreck likes to slander other streamers and Twitch on Twitter. He is considered a gambling streamer, someone who is firmly connected to Stake and Kick and who is leading a crusade against the whole world. Hopefully he never shows up at gamescom, who knows what else is going on behind Hall 8: gamescom: Conflict between Twitch streamers Tanzverbot vs Orangemorange escalates into physical attack – new statements
