Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s the opposition leader, who is one of the strongest opponents, remains in prison by court order.

The court announced its decision a day after Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal was about to be released on bail. The opposition politician was imprisoned because of a complex web of corruption. Kejrival accused the prime minister of the Hindu nationalist BJP party of a “political conspiracy” and said the continued detention was unjustified.
