According to BBC news, the judge sentenced Arion Kurtaj to an indefinite hospital sentence, stating that his desire and ability to commit cybercrime is a risk to the public.
It was reported that Kurtaj will remain in the hospital until it is determined that he is a healthy individual who does not pose a threat to society.
Kurtaj, a member of the “Lapsus$” hacker group, stated during his health checks that he “wants to return to committing cybercrime as soon as possible.”
ROCKSTAR: IT PUT US IN A 5 MILLION DOLLAR LOSS
Rockstar, the company that owns the video game GTA VI, stated in court that Kurtaj’s activities caused them a loss of $5 million.
Although his laptop was confiscated, Kurtaj stole 90 GTA VI images from Rockstar with his Amazon Firestick device and mobile phone and published them on social media.
Kurtaj, who infiltrated the Slack message system used by the company, said, “If Rockstar does not contact me via Telegram within 24 hours, I will publish the codes of the game.” He used the phrase and shared the codes in a forum after the time expired.
The images published by Kurtaj were watched by 128 million people in 4 days. (AA)
