Incredibly entertaining adventure film by Steven Spielberg which he still

With Jurassic Park, Steven Spielberg not only created an untouchable masterpiece in 1993. He also launched an adventure franchise that has been producing new films and series for 30 years now. Forgotten World takes place a few years after the events of its predecessor and focuses on Dr. Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) as the main character. The scientist is supposed to travel to Isla Sorna, a sister island of Isla Nublar, where the infamous Jurassic Park was created.

According to park owner John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), the dinosaurs should live in peace on Sorna in the future. Reluctantly, Dr. Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) at one Expedition to the island part. His girlfriend Dr. is waiting for him there. Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore) – and a ruthless group of big game hunters. Catastrophe is inevitable.

What Steven Spielberg thinks about Jurassic Park 2

Yes, the sequel lacks much of the genius of Jurassic Park. Nevertheless, Spielberg managed to create a blockbuster with Forgotten World that lasted from minute 1 to the finale breathless entertainment offers and is bursting with ideas. The themes are no longer new, but the director knew how to bring new visual and moral perspectives to the dinosaur hunts. Most sequels can’t say that. But the director himself sees it differently.

In the book Steven Spielberg: A Biography he said, he was filming “tormented” (“I beat myself up”). And in 2016, he told The New York Times:

My sequels are never as good as their predecessors because I always go into production far too confident. [Jurassic Park] made an incredible amount of money, […] and me [arbeite am Sequel]as if the thing had already been scratched. The result is a bad sequel.

It’s a question of perspective: Of course, Forgotten World isn’t as good as Jurassic Park. Whatever the case, the blockbuster is one of the best films in history. But Forgotten World is far from being “bad”. Or at most on Steven Spielberg’s perfectionism scale.
