The leader of the opposition, Pablo Casado, speaks squarely of fraud because one of his deputies voted in favor of the new law when he would have liked to vote against it. He invokes an error in the electronic system, and threatens to sue the president of the Lower House, the socialist Meritxell Batet, for ” prevarication “.
Surprise
This erroneous vote was decisive because the text was approved with only one difference vote. For their part, the Socialists say that two deputies from a modest conservative formation in Navarre had promised to vote in favor of the law, but they voted against it, and created a surprise in the other direction. Their vote would also have been fatal to this labor market reform if the other Conservative MP had not been mistaken.
Prebends
The Socialists in power affirm that these two deputies lied and betrayed, and that, certainly, they received from the opposition party prebends and profits of one nature or another. For the time being, these mutual accusations do not call into question the approval of the new law, but they cast a shadow over its legitimacy.
