GTA VI Trailer Breaks YouTube Records
We’re halfway through 2024 and YouTube has released its 2023 Culture and Trends Report. They’ve taken the time to analyze what’s happened on the platform in the past year, and of course, there’s a section dedicated to the GTA VI trailer. In their Sizing Up Cultural Moments section, YouTube reiterates that it’s the fastest non-music video to reach that number, reaching 93 million views in 24 hours. Then they talk about the videos fans have posted about the trailer.
These include trailer reactions, breakdowns, and more. YouTube’s new statistics show that these videos have been watched a combined 93 million times in the first 24 hours alone. What’s really interesting about this number is that YouTube has never seen so much fan content shared in a 48-hour period before. A few days after the trailer dropped, YouTube revealed that fan videos related to GTA VI had been viewed more than 250 million times in the first 48 hours. Now we know that a large portion of those views, 192 million, came in the first day.
It’s been 6 months since the trailer was released early following a Twitter leak. The video currently has over 198 million views. It’ll soon reach 200 million. That’ll probably be long before Rockstar Games releases the second GTA VI trailer.
