A 16-year-old girl in India was stabbed multiple times in the middle of the street. Security camera footage showed the killer crushing his head with a large stone. It is understood that many eyewitnesses watched the attack or fled from the scene, according to the video footage that was shared extensively on social media and created an indignation in India. Police said the couple had argued a few hours before the incident.
HE WAS ATTENDING A FRIEND’S BIRTHDAY
According to Ravi Kumar Singh, a police official speaking to the India-based ANI news agency, the young woman was going to attend a friend’s son’s birthday party when she was attacked.
Stating that the investigation is continuing, Singh said the suspect was detained near Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh.

After the incident, many people expressed their anger on social media using tags such as “Delhi murder” and “Delhi crime”.
Delhi State Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal described the murder as “very sad and unfortunate” in a post on social media and said, “The criminals have become fearless, there is no fear of the police.”

Speaking to ANI, Delhi Women’s Commission Chairman Swati Maliwal said, “The incident was recorded on security cameras. We see that a few people saw the incident but did not care. Delhi has become extremely unsafe for women and girls.”
Rekha Sharma, Chairman of the National Commission for Women, said the incident showed the “insensitivity” of the people of Delhi.

“There were many people at the scene, but no one did anything to help the girl. The decision on the investigation should be made as early as possible,” Sharma said.
