As Ghanaian farmer Kofi Atta fell asleep in his armchair, he dreamed of cutting meat for family dinner. When the 47-year-old man woke up in pain, he realized that he had cut his testicles. The man, who said what he had experienced was a terrible nightmare, was alone at home. He desperately called his neighbors. When he came running, he found the man covered in blood.
UNDERSTANDING WHAT HAPPENED WHILE HOSPITAL
“I was sitting in my chair when I slept. I saw that I was cutting some meat in front of me in my sleep. I don’t remember how I got the knife, I was confused,” Kofi Atta said.
He explained that although he stood up and felt a sharp pain in his genitals, he was still unsure of what had happened when his neighbors arrived. Perhaps as a result of the blood loss, Kofi only came out of his dream state while in the hospital. That’s when she realized she was chopping up her own testicles, not food for a family dinner.
GETTING HELP
Doctors treated his gruesome wounds earlier this month. He needs surgery to fully recover. He is collecting donations to cover the expenses of the surgery.
