A twin-engine Beechraft King Air 90 type small plane crashed onto a supermarket in Temixco, a city in the Mexican state of Morelos, at around 13:00 local time. The wreckage of the crashed plane broke through the wall of the supermarket, which is a one-story structure, and went inside.
3 DEAD, 5 INJURED
In a statement made by the Morelos Civil Defense officials, it was reported that 3 people on the plane lost their lives as a result of the accident. Authorities noted that a total of 5 people were injured, one of which was on the plane, and the other four were customers of the supermarket.
The injured were taken to the hospital to be treated. It was reported that those who lost their lives in the accident were the pilot of the plane, 47-year-old Mauricio, 34-year-old co-pilot Paulina and 46-year-old passenger Alejandra.
It was stated that the plane took off from the airport in the city of Acapulco, in the Mexican state of Guerrero, about an hour before it crashed. While the cause of the accident has not yet been determined, Morelos Chief Prosecutor’s Office announced that an investigation has been launched into the incident. (UAV)
