Sweden’s energy minister Ebba Busch (KD) and France’s counterpart Agnés Pannier-Runacher have signed an agreement – a so-called declaration of intent – on nuclear power. It means that the countries must exchange experiences on financing models for building new nuclear power.

The countries must also cooperate more on reactor maintenance and lifetime and power updates of existing nuclear power, according to the government.

“Increased international cooperation on nuclear power is central to enabling a massive expansion of nuclear power in Sweden by 2045. France, like Sweden, has great experience in the nuclear power field,” says Ebba Busch in a statement.
