In WoW you have a bonus chance at one of the rarest mounts of all time

Ashes of Al’ar is one of the rarest mounts in World of Warcraft. But now you have a bonus chance of getting the mount.

There are many rare mounts in World of Warcraft that still arouse envy or amazement at the sight of them today. One of the first mounts of this type is the Phoenix Al’ar, which is available through the Ashes of Al’ar item. This is actually a very, very rare drop from Kael’thas Sunstrider in The Eye raid – but there is now another source where you may be lucky enough to get the mount.

What kind of mount is that? Ashes of Al’ar remains a unique and handsome mount even today, well over a decade after its release. Streaking red across the sky, Kael’thas Sunstrider’s orange-gold phoenix is still one of the most beautiful and rarest mounts.

There are many players who have been trying to get this phoenix for years and have never had any luck.

That’s not surprising, after all, the drop chance is a low 1.70% – and you only have one attempt per character per week.

How do you get the bonus chance? For this you have to use “Timewalking: The Burning Crusade”. More specifically, you need to complete the quest Disturbance Detected: Black Temple. This is a mission that is only active during the corresponding Timewalking.

The quest requires you to defeat Illidan Stormrage during Timewalking in the Black Temple – in his Timewalking variant. That means you need a (reasonably) capable group to timewalk this raid.

The raid is not particularly difficult and is much easier during the time walk than it was when it was released, but it still needs a raid group to even have a chance. It’s best to look in the “Search for a group” channel to see if someone is trying to set up such a raid group – or open your own without further ado.

You can accept the quest directly in the Black Temple (entrance area) or in Shattrath City.

Community is enthusiastic: The World of Warcraft subreddit and wowhead comments praise the fact that Al’ar’s Ashes can now be obtained from an additional source. Many initially thought it was a bug or that other players were “trolling” them when they claimed that the Phoenix was available from the Timewalking Crate. But now there is enough evidence to confirm this.

Were you lucky enough to receive Al’ar’s ashes? Or are you still missing this mount?

It will soon also be really stylish for night elves and undead – because they will get their traditional armor
