The Minister of Foreign Affairs visited the Sumy region this Sunday, in Trostyanets, a town inUkraine occupied in March 2022 by Russian troops, then heavily bombed during and after its liberation.
In front of the destroyed buildings, Jean-Noël Barrot spoke with the military governor of the region, Volodymyr Artyukh, as well as with the general commanding operations in the northern sector of theUkraineDmytro Keasylnykov.
The minister once again reaffirmed the support of the France to Ukraine to the victory plan proposed by the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskywhile signaling that a Russian victory would plunge the world order into chaos.
This visit was an opportunity to make contact with his Ukrainian interlocutors and counterparts for the newly appointed minister, with an emphasis on the continuity of French support, particularly to the cultural and humanitarian sector. On this last aspect, Jean-Noël Barrot announced the construction of two care centers financed by France for Ukrainian children in Kharkiv and Dnipro.
