The bill, approved by the Ohio state legislature of the USA, was signed by Governor Mike DeWine and became law. In a joint statement, the Ohio Teachers Federation and the Ohio Education Association described the law as “dangerous and irresponsible”, stating that without adequate education, guns would be brought into schools and students would be less safe.
THEY WILL RECEIVE 24 HOURS TRAINING
The new law, known as “Council bill 99”, allows teachers in primary, secondary and high schools to carry a gun with them after training not exceeding 24 hours.
In 28 states in the USA, teachers with a concealed carry permit are allowed to bring their guns to school with the knowledge and approval of the school administration. (AA)
