A record amount of anti-Semitism, or anti-Jewish, has been reported in the United States in the past year, i.e. after the attack on Israel by the terrorist organization Hamas.
The Anti-Defamation League organization has recorded more than 10,000 anti-Jewish incidents since October 7, 2023, a recent report shows.
The number of disputes has tripled compared to the previous 12-month period.
The controversy includes more than 8,000 cases of verbal or written harassment, more than 1,800 cases of vandalism, and more than 150 cases of violence against Jews in the United States.
A large part of the clashes took place at anti-Israel demonstrations, in facilities used by Jews such as synagogues, or on university campuses.
– We Jews have received a shocking number of anti-Semitic threats while the threat of violence against Israelis and Jews living elsewhere is growing, the organization’s executive director Jonathan Greenblatt quoth.
The figures of the Anti-Defamation League do not include data received from authorities such as the police, and the organization believes that the numbers will still grow.
Clashes against Muslims are also on the rise. Last year, more than 8,600 of them were reported in the United States, says the BBC.
