In the United States, a large-scale strike of port workers began – twenty ports in the scope of industrial action | News in brief

In the United States, port workers at 14 major ports have gone on strike after last-minute negotiations on a new labor contract broke down between the port workers’ union and the employer side.

The Port of Virginia said on its website that the strike began at the change of day to Tuesday local time. It was reported on the port’s website that the negotiations between the parties had reached a dead end.

The operation of the port, located more than 200 kilometers south of the country’s capital, Washington, was already stopped on Monday before the start of the strike, reported the local media.
