Sherlock and Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch will soon be seen in his first series lead role since 2018’s Patrick Melrose… and he’s looking more dashing than ever.
We’re talking about the thriller series Eric from Netflix, for which there is now a trailer a bizarre psychological drama promises. This is a miniseries that will be completed after one season.
What is the Netflix series Eric with Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch about?
Vincent (Cumberbatch) is a puppeteer in 1980s New York and creator of a popular children’s show, a fictional Jim Henson. His life is thrown into disarray when his nine-year-old son Edgar (Ivan Morris Howe) disappears without a trace on the way to school. Vincent becomes increasingly desperate and convinces himself of crazy logic: When he brings Edgar’s monster drawing named Eric onto TV as a dollthe child comes back because he realizes how much you miss him.
However, this goes so far that Eric appears to the puppeteer as a figment of his imagination and interacts with him. Based on the first trailer, it looks like a mix between Kidding with Jim Carrey and Happy! with Christopher Meloni.
