In the top match of the floorball league, a completely exceptional run out – the head coach explains how his brain was tilted: “Yes, it embarrassed me”

In the top match of the floorball league a completely

On Tuesday, Nokian KrP hosted Turku Palloseura in the men’s floorball league match. It was the first match of the season between last year’s final teams. Last spring, TPS overthrew KrP in a thriller-like series of final matches in overtime of the seventh final.

This time, thanks to a clearly stronger second set, the people from Nokia were better 9–5 (2–2, 5–1, 2–2). From the winners Valtteri Viitakoski and Nico Jonaeson factory powers 1+2, Juuso Ahola pitched three hits. from TPS Lauri Eloluoto scored 3+1.

The most talked about and funniest moment of a really fast-paced match was seen at the end of the second set. Nokia’s head coach Janne Kainulainen thought the set was already over and jumped onto the court to walk through it to the locker room. In fact, there were still seconds left on the clock.

Kainulainen has a 2+2-minute penalty and a game penalty in 40:00 recorded in the minutes. Kainulainen watched the third set from the side of the stands.

– Now let’s accept all the publicity, Kainulainen smiles at the reporter’s call.

Kainulainen suffered a so-called brain fart in the exit situation.

– Somehow my brain was in a knot, I thought the buzzer sounded and the set was over. I had a thing for one player about that exchange. I was going to show him like a tablet what could be done next time. It was a bit too jumpy.

– Then there was nothing left to do. I should probably have taken all the joy out of it and run around the field.

In the situation, Kainulainen did not affect the course of the match in any way. In addition, he quickly jumped back into the changing paddock. The judges had explained to Kainulainen during the break that there is no room for interpretation in the rule in question. Kainulainen understands it very well.

– The rule book is not flexible at that stage. It is understandable. Where would that line be drawn if someone deliberately jumped there? A perfectly reasonable sounding rule.

This is enough of a story for a long time

Kainulainen, 39, has played a long career on domestic and Swiss courts and previously coached at SB Welhoi and TPS. However, he has not experienced a similar exit.

– You get to experience all sorts of funny things. Officials and guardians have been fired, but I have never encountered a similar situation in my career.

Fortunately for Nokia, the absence of Kainulainen from behind the bench in the third period did not affect the final result. KrP kept the lead they gained in the second set.

– I was embarrassed to go to the locker room during the break. The guys took it in good humor.

– However, when the end result was good, then this will be a story and acknowledgment for a long time, as it should be. I was able to pocket a three-figure sum in my fines fund.

Nokian KrP liked to knock down the spring finals. Kainulainen points out that, of course, the TPS team has changed drastically since last spring.

For example Miko Kailiala moved to Switzerland. In last spring’s matches, Kailiala scored 30 (18+12) power points and won the points exchange for the playoffs. Mikko Hautaniemi ended his playing career. Ville Hirvisuo moved to the Swedish league.

Even though the opponent was a different team at the time, Nokian KrP’s game look pleased the head coach. KrP lost to Oilers, LASB and Jymy in the beginning of the season, but has now won three times in a row.

– In the last games, the expression and fighting mood have approached our potential. From the beginning of the season, the rats were pushed open and it was thought that we were the best players and coaches in the world. The result was poor. Now we have reached the core again.

Men’s F-League The standings are still very even at this stage. The top scorers are Espoo’s Oilers (22 points), Nokian KrP and Tampereen Classic (21 points) and Espoo’s Indians (20 points). SPV and TPS have 18 points.

At the bottom of the series are FBC Turku, which has two points, and EräViikingit, which has zero. The teams have played 8–11 matches.

A world record in Sysma?

Other special things have been heard from the floorball front. Sysmäläinen Lähilehti reported on Facebookthat last Friday in the 2nd division of floorball Bandy Boys -88 Eemeli Vettenranta shot two goals into SaiPa’s academy team’s net two seconds apart. When SaiPa’s goal had preceded the hits, three goals were scored in five seconds.

First, SaiPa took a 7–3 lead. Then Vettenranta won the start and shot from a distance to make it 4-7. In the next middle start, SaiPa’s player did not correct his starting position despite the request. So Bandy Boys -88 got a free kick. Vettenranta drove the ball into the net from the center.

Vettenranta finally made a hat trick and brought Bandy Boys to a draw. However, SaiPa won 8–7 in overtime.

– In a normal starting situation, it is hardly possible to score a goal in a second. A rule introduced a few years ago, where a free kick can be awarded for an incorrect starting position, stick position or stick grip, enables such a goal to occur. However, information about another similar case has not been found, wrote Lähilehti, which wondered if a world record was set at the floorball night in Sysmälä.

Floorball media According to the skull universal records are not listed, but in the official records, two goals cannot be scored faster – so a difference of one second is the best possible performance.
