In the swing states, full success for Trump, Georgia on the verge of swinging the American election

Trump and Harris neck and neck poll results in these

The provisional results of the American presidential election are known in the dreaded “Swing states” this Wednesday morning. And it’s astonishing: Donald Trump seems able to win in the 7 pivotal states of the election.

In the United States, the results of the 2024 presidential elections began to fall since the early morning of Wednesday, November 6, French time. And eyes are now turning to the “Swing states”, the most undecided states, therefore the most important for the vote. None of these seven key states (Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona and North Carolina) has yet found a definitive winner, but partial results give some very clear, even implacable, trends.

As a reminder, according to the American voting system, each state won guarantees a certain number of votes among the 538 electors who will designate the American president in December. And for the moment, it is Donald Trump who has the advantage over Kamala Harris and who could even win the 93 major voters linked to the Swing states.

Trump advantage in Georgia, Pennsylvania and elsewhere

According to the Associated Press, the agency which refers to the results of the elections in the USA, shortly before 7 a.m., Donald Trump had already won the election in North Carolina. On 91% of the votes, he then reached 51% of the votes against 47.8% for Kamala Harris. In the Michigan on 60% of the votes, the Republican provisionally won with 52.3% ahead of the Democrat at 46%. In the Wisconsinout of 86% of the votes counted, the former president had 51.4% against 47.2% for the Vice-President. L’Arizona also provisionally gave victory to Donald Trump, by a narrow head and on 51% of the votes, with 49.9% against 49.2%. In Georgiaaccording to APTrump wins and the state therefore swings to the Republican side.

In Pennsylvania, on 39% of the votes counted, Kamala Harris took the lead for a time, at 49.7%, in a close battle with Donald Trump at 49.4%. But the former president turned the situation around since a few hours later, shortly before 7 a.m. and on 90% of the votes this time, the Republican won 51.2% of the votes while Kamala Harris accumulated 47.8%. Finally, on 75% of the votes, Nevada also gave Trump the advantage with 50.9% against 47.5% for Harris.

It is therefore a red wave which seems to be sweeping over the Swing states. It will also be noted that in Floridaalmost categorized as an 8th Swing state given its 40 electors, Donald Trump obtained more than 56% of the votes, out of 98% of the count. He also won in Miami County, which he had lost in the last two elections in which he participated. It would therefore seem that the Trumpist electorate was particularly mobilized, perhaps more than pollsters and observers thought.

Donald Trump had however seen Kamala Harris make a resounding comeback in the polls, a few days before the election, to the point of overtaking him in certain territories. But polls remained extremely close in key swing states, according to RealClear Politics and observers feared in the home stretch that the Trump vote had been underestimated. Their fears were undoubtedly well-founded.

07:45 – Fox News announces Trump’s victory in Pennsylvania

If the information remains to be confirmed, Donald Trump would be declared the winner in the key state of Pennsylvania in this US presidential election, as reported by Fox News. A victory which would be synonymous with an almost assured return to the White House for the Republican.

07:31 – The first numbers in Nevada

“Nevada’s first votes were announced, about three hours after the polls closed. Trump led by about 3 points in the first returns,” says now AP. Please note, the complete count could take several days in this State. In 2020, for example, votes reported after Election Day narrowly favored Biden, adding 1.8 percentage points to his margin of victory.

07:07 – Trump wins a new swing state, Georgia

Donald Trump wins Georgia and its 16 electors. Although the state has two Democratic U.S. senators, Trump’s victory proves that Georgia still leans Republican. Six candidates appeared on the ballot in Georgia, but votes for Claudia De la Cruz and Cornel West were not counted. One thing is certain, the AP has just declared Trump the winner in this Swing state, at 12:58 a.m. local time.

06:59 – Trump in very good position in Georgia

Former President Donald Trump would win the key state of Georgia, CNN projects. There are 16 electoral votes at stake in Georgia. As a reminder, at least 270 electoral votes are needed to win the 2024 presidential election. At the same time, AP still sees a shooting window for Kamala Harris and a final victory in this Swing state, while CNN and the NY Times announce a Republican victory in this state. Mathematically, there are potentially enough early votes left to count to put the Democrat ahead.

06:01 – At 6 a.m., Donald Trump in position to win the 7 swing states

This is confirmed: at 6 a.m. this Wednesday morning in France, Donald Trump still seems able to win the 7 swing states of this American election. The latest figures from the Associated Press put him in the lead, sometimes by a good margin, in several of them. The New York Times also sketched out a possible full picture of Trump in its own projections.

05:26 – Trump wins North Carolina

The first swing state to give its results is that of North Carolina. According to AP, it’s confirmed: Trump’s lead cannot be undone, he wins the 16 seats in this key state, which counts in money time. The Republican is in a good position to win, in a better position than Kamala Harris.
