Armand Duplantis is the world’s best track and field athlete.
And apparently a very good boyfriend on the side.
Because he has a special secret weapon for dealing with fights with girlfriend Desiré Inglander.
This year’s fantastic performances have solidified Armand Duplantis greatness as the world’s foremost track and field athlete. The Swedish star in pole vaulting has won WC gold both indoors and outdoors, EC gold outdoors and took the overall victory in the Diamond League.
Duplanti’s success
Recently, the 23-year-old also received the incredibly prestigious award as “World’s best male track and field athlete” in 2022. A well-deserved award for “Mondo” and the second time in his career that he has received the fine award.

The world’s best pole vaulter already at the age of 23 and he is not yet satisfied, but is already looking ahead to becoming that much better. By his side, Duplantis has had his girlfriend Desire Inglander since a few years back.

Mondo’s weapon
The couple lives together in Stockholm and recently they guested on the TV program “Bianca” to tell more about their relationship. Mondo then revealed on the talk show that he has his very own secret weapon to avoid a fight with Desiré.
The Swedish-American simply switches from his native English and starts speaking Swedish in the middle of a fight.
– If he starts speaking Swedish in the middle of an argument, I start laughing instead. And then the fight is settled… I can’t take it seriously. You’re really good at Swedish, but it’s kind of cute, says Desiré in the Kanal 5 program.
– I get that. I can’t take myself seriously either, replies Mondo.

“If I say”
One of the funniest examples from their fight is when Duplantis asks the question “are you mad at me?”. Instead of using the grammatically correct “angry with me”.
– If I say “with me” and she starts laughing, I just feel “yes!”, Mondo tells the presenter Bianca Ingrosso.

In the talk show, Armand Duplantis also reveals what the future looks like for the young couple.
– I want to get married, have children and everything. I hope it will be like that, says Duplantis and looks towards his girlfriend Desiré with a smile.
