It’s still a while before Guardians of the Galaxy 3 hits theaters. Soon, however, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will sweeten the waiting time for Marvel fans and bring back the MCU troupe around Peter Quill (Chris Pratt). The first trailer snags an eight-year-old joke and makes it a Christmas present. In the form of a cameo by Kevin Bacon.

In the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, the Marvel crew kidnaps Kevin Bacon

With Christmas just around the corner, Quill is feeling down about Gamora (Zoe Saldana). to cheer him up his colleagues want to kidnap Kevin Bacon without further ado and give it to their sad leader as a holiday gift. After all, he already showed himself in the first Guardians of the Galaxy as a great admirer of Bacon’s dancing skills in Footloose.

An eight-year-old joke isn’t the only surprise MCU fans have in store for the holiday special, though. As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, among others, Michael Rooker is set to return in his role as Quill’s mentor Yondu. He will probably not be brought back to life after his death in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He may appear in Pratt’s character’s Christmas flashbacks.

Ahead of Guardians of the Galaxy 3: When is the Holiday Special coming to Disney+?

It won’t be long before Marvel fans can be sure about this question. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is coming November 25, 2022 to Disney+. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will be released in cinemas on May 3, 2023.
