According to the local civil society committee, today, out of the seven municipalities in the circle of Ansongo, six have been emptied of their inhabitants due to insecurity. And over the past two years, many civilians have been killed by jihadists and armed bandits. Breeders dispossessed of their animals, farmers chased from their fields, traders going to fairs victims of mines placed on the roads pursue the initiators of 48 hours of civil disobedience. In this part of Mali, Ouatagouna, where local notables and elected officials were assassinated, is one of the municipalities most affected by insecurity.
