(Finance) – Nel 2022, EU member states they spent a total of approx 228 billion euros in state aid, which also include crisis measures related to the pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine. This amount corresponds to 1.4% of EU GDP and marks a reduction of 34.8% compared to the 349.7 billion euros of 2021.
The data emerges from State aid scoreboard published by the European Commission. There Germany ranked first for the highest spending, with a total of 73.67 billion euros (equal to 0.46% of EU GDP)followed by France with 44.79 billion euros (0.28% of GDP) and Italy with 27.61 billion euros (0.17% of GDP).
