In the Copa America Uruguay secured victory in Group C

Uruguay and Panama won the Copa América in the American football championship tournament.

The Uruguay national football team secured the victory in Group C of the Copa América and the next place by beating the United States 1–0.

The first period was scoreless. At the beginning of the second half, the defender representing Napoli in the club team Mathias Olivera hit the US network.

No more goals were seen in the match, so points to Ururuguay. The USA finished third in the group, so its competitions will end in the preliminary series. Early Sunday morning, Finland time, Uruguay will face the team that came second in Group D.

Sad games in Bolivia

In 1963, Bolivia won the South American championship. Since then, it has been quiet at the men’s national team level. In the 2000s, the team has survived in the American championship tournament, Copa América, from the starting spot to the second round only once (2015).

Bolivia is on the way to the first group again when it lost to Panama in its last match in Group C. Panama celebrated a 3-1 victory.

Panama started scoring at 22 minutes into the game, when Jose Fajardo Nelson shot the ball into the Bolivian net.

Bruno Miranda however, equalized in the 69th minute to make it 1–1. The goal was Bolivia’s only goal of the tournament.

In the end, Panama went ahead and won the match 3–1.

Panama cleared its way from the preliminary series to the second round as the second in the group. Panama will face the team that won Group D early Sunday morning Finnish time.

The tournament is played in the United States.
