“Parade”, the anthem of the Paris Games, finally available on platforms

The athletes’ parade scheduled for Paris on Saturday, September 14, will undoubtedly be punctuated by the music that has become the official anthem of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This piece by Victor Le Masne, entitled Paradehas made an impression. Since Friday, it has been available on all music platforms. Those nostalgic for the Games and others can now listen to it on repeat.

Parade was originally designed to accompany the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games and the parade of athletes on the Seine. But given the enthusiasm it generated, it quickly became the official anthem of the event. It was heard in particular during the torch relays and the medal presentations.

A success of a magnitude that even surprised the composer of this melody, Victor Le Masne: ” I didn’t write it thinking it was going to be a theme, much less an anthem. I wrote it very spontaneously at the beginning. It was really one of the first bricks I laid for this great edifice. When people got hold of the piece, it went wild, so to speak. It was a great surprise. »

Parade starts with a light tune with violins, then builds up in power with symphony orchestra and choirs, before transforming into an electro loop typical of the French TouchFor the record, this anthem has become so popular that a middle school in the suburbs of Lyon adopted it to replace its end-of-class bell, in order to perpetuate the spirit of the Paris Games.
