There was a shooting in Istanbul, Turkey on Sunday evening, which has connections to Sweden. The Swedish media, among others, have reported on the matter public broadcasting company SVT and Expressen.
The targets of the shooting were two men, one of whom died and the other was wounded in the leg. The shooters fled the scene.
Turkish media TRT Haber writes according to SVT that three suspects have been seen fleeing the scene. According to Expressen, the Turkish news agency DHA says that the shooting took place in a cafe in Sariyer, located in the northern part of Istanbul, late Sunday evening local time.
According to Expressen, the authorities found a firearm and eight shell casings at the scene. According to DHA, it is unclear what started the confrontation.
Both men who were shot are said to have been active in the Zeronätverket gang operating in the Stockholm area and close to the gang leader, Jordgubbe [Mansikka] -known by the nickname Ismail Abdon with.
Abdo, on the other hand, is now the blood enemy of his former friend, the leader of the Foxtrot gang “Kurdikettu” Rawa Majidin with. In the middle of last year, the men’s violence escalated into a cycle of violence that spread not only to Sweden, but also to Turkey.
In Sweden, it is now feared that Sunday’s shooting in Istanbul will lead to a new cycle of revenge.

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not been able to confirm media information about the shootings to the news agency TT. The ministry tells TT that it is aware of the news and that it will investigate the matter together with the Consulate General in Istanbul.
The internal power struggle turned into a cycle of revenge
“Kurdikettu” Majid has reportedly bought himself Turkish citizenship. In the fall, the Swedish police evaluated the drug crime of the Foxtrot organization led by Majid from Turkey.
Last year in October, the Swedish media wrote that Majid had allegedly been caught in Iran. However, in November, authorities told the media that they had no information on Majid’s exact whereabouts.
In recent months, there have been many shootings and explosions linked to gang violence in Sweden. It is known that the vast majority of acts of violence are related to the internal showdowns of the criminal network Foxtrot.
