Saturday’s demonstration is probably the most extensive of months of demonstration. President Alexandar Vučić is not going to bend in front of the pressure.
In Serbia, for months, demonstrations do not subside.
On Saturday, tens of thousands of protesters gathered in the country’s capital Belgrade to protest against the country’s administration and rampant corruption.
Saturday’s demonstration is probably the most extensive since their launch in November.
The protests started in Serbia when the roof of Novi Sadi’s train station collapsed last November. At that time, 15 people died in the accident.
The protesters associate an accident in corrupt officials in the country’s administration, who, among other things, direct the funds for public renovation to their own pockets.
Demonstrators also demanded Serbia since 2014 Aleksandar Vučićin the difference.
On Friday, Vučić gave a defiant message to the protesters gathered in Belgrade.
– I want to make it clear that I can’t put pressure on me. I am President of Serbia and I do not allow this country to be managed from the streets.
The organizations behind the demonstrations have hoped that the demonstrations would go smoothly. However, due to riot police and protesters who support the government, the situation in the city has already been tense in advance.
