In Season 2 we can expect 5 new characters including

Anyone eagerly awaiting Season 2 after the grand finale of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime * will need about two years of patience. Nevertheless, the fantasy series already fueled with hidden hints as well as official ones Announcements of new characters in Season 2 the anticipation. We present you the 5 most exciting candidates before, which should meet Sauron, Galadriel and Co. in the next season.

1.) Confirmed Lord of the Rings newcomer: Tolkien-Elb Círdan is already cast

In addition to a Sauron promise based on Breaking Bad models, the rings of power showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay have revealed even more about Season 2. The appearance of a famous Tolkien figure is thus definitely confirmed : Círdan, the shipwright was occupied. Despite the start of filming, his actor is still being kept secret. The wise elf is one of the oldest prick-eared creatures in Middle-earth and, as his nickname suggests, has a soft spot for creating elvish boats.

Círdan actually appeared as Lord of the Gray Havens in JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, but Peter Jackson did not include him in his films. The Sindar Elf Lord is also known as Nowë known and was the bearer of the Elven ring Narya (before this went to Gandalf). He is described as silver-haired, with eyes clear as stars and, unusually for Elves, with beard described (the envy of bearded dwarf women is sure to him).

2.) The rings of power have long since prepared the arrival of Isildur’s brother Anárion

Anyone who has read The Silmarillion* or The Appendices to Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings knows that Isildur is not the only Númenorean who later becomes important in Middle-earth. The current horse lover, believed dead, who will later knock the ring off Sauron’s finger, has another brother. and Elendil’s second son Anárion was even mentioned as a seafarer by the series in episode 3. Preparatory work has clearly been done here for its introduction.

Lord of the Rings Statues of Argonath: Isildur and Anárion

Strictly speaking, Lord of the Rings film fans even “know” Anárion, because the two Argonath King Statues, which The Fellowship of the Anduin paddle past, are none other than depictions of Isildur and his younger brother. After the Númenor catastrophe, the two establish their kingdom of exile in Middle-earth: Gondor.

3.) Galadriel’s husband Celeborn has to rise from the dead in season 2

After long ambiguity in The Rings of Power Galadriel’s husband Celeborn reigned, Season 1 of the Lord of the Rings series clarified his fate in episode 7: Celeborn went to war against Sauron’s teacher Morgoth in the First Age of Middle-earth and was then no longer seen by his Elven wife. Galadriel believes the missing man is dead.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring: Celeborn (Marton Csokas)

We, on the other hand, know that Celeborn cannot actually have died. After all, he later faces the Lord of the Rings companions in Lothlórien, and he must also produce a daughter with Galadriel so that Elrond can later marry Celebrían and father Arwen. That Celeborn after the prominent mention in Season 1 must appear is almost certain. Of course, the Amazon series does not yet reveal how he will be brought back in the course of seasons 2 to 5.

4.) Lord of the Rings fan favorite Durin has a brother – and that means trouble

Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur) is a clear winner of hearts in the character ranking of the Lord of the Rings series. In episode 7 of The Rings of Power, however, the dwarf is as good as his father stripped of his title: When Durin IV disobeys the orders of his father and king while searching for mithril, Durin III (Peter Mullan) takes the son’s heir apparent necklace. Nevertheless, Durin’s wife Disa (Sophia Nomvete) emphasizes that she and Durin will not take the throne Durin’s brother be disputed by other dwarven rulers.

The Rings of Power: Elrond faces competition from Durin’s brother

Tolkien does not know anything about a brother of Durin IV. That makes the mention of the previously unknown sibling all the more interesting. After all, would the Lord of the Rings series name one if they weren’t planning on introducing one as well? A Brother strife over the dwarven kingdom of Khazad-dûm would be an exciting twist for season 2.

5.) The Rings of Power must clarify: Who is Theo’s father?

Also, what Lord of the Rings fans have been speculating about since The Rings of Power began is the conspicuous absence of Theo’s father. Is there more behind the sire of the southerner boy (Tyroe Muhafidin)? Why is Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi) so secretive about his identity?

Will Theo Miss A Father In Season 2 Of The Rings Of Power?

The series could have simply declared Theo’s father dead. Instead, the option remains open for the unknown to appear in season 2 or later. The affairs and paternity theories range from Sauron (in a different form) to Adar and Khamûl, the Easterling, who was later named the only Ringwraith by Tolkien.
