The new survival game REKA takes the Slavic folklore of Baba Yaga as a model and will soon start its beta on Steam.
What kind of game is this? In REKA you play the apprentice of Baba Yaga, a witch who lives in a walking house on chicken legs. One of your first tasks in the game is to build your own house.
The survival game is about surviving, exploring, brewing potions, taming animals and helping people – or not. You should be able to really immerse yourself in the role of a witch. The game also places emphasis on decoration and magnificent witch houses should already be possible.
The game takes the folklore surrounding the traveling witch Baba Yaga as its model and turns it into a survival game in a procedurally generated world with many gloomy forests and dark places to discover.

You can become a REKA as early as next week
How is the beta going? REKA’s beta test starts next Tuesday, April 30th and runs for about a week until May 8th. The beta test is closed and may not be shared with others.
If you want to venture through the dark forests yourself, you can register for the beta. Be careful: Not everyone who registers will be selected.
To give yourself a chance, go to the game’s page on Steam and press the green button that says “Request Access”.
What condition is the game in? The game is not finished yet and the beta still has some problems. When announcing the test, the developers announced that there would still be some bugs and that saving didn’t work well yet.
To save, players must have built the house and entered the second game area. Only the house, the inventory and the character itself are saved.
So that you don’t have to switch off without saving, the developers recommend that you allow at least 3 hours for the game test.
