Objective fulfilled for Civic Platform, the party of Prime Minister Donald Tusk. He won the strategic places he was aiming for in the first round. The party should lead or co-lead around ten regional assemblies, key institutions in the spending of European funds that the Prime Minister is trying to release from Brussels.

Showcase of this victory, the town hall of the capital Warsaw was won in the first round.

But if a sharp decline was announced for the Law and Justice populists before the election, they knew how to defend their strongholds. Good enough to come out of this first round of local elections in the lead in terms of number of votes cast. But not enough to win proportionally, as in the parliamentary elections Besides.

Of course, the coalition in power, united, clearly separates itself from Law and Justice. Even more than in the last elections, but we are far from the total victory announced. Especially since the coalition has shown its limits, and the smaller parties that make it up hoped for better.

This first round of local elections shows how close the Europeans will be and that even if there is still the second round in two weeks, all the parties already have their eyes on the future.
