In Poland several children were injured after a car driver

A motorist has driven into a crowd in Szczecin, Poland, says a Pole Wiadomosci Aftonbladetaccording to 19 people have been injured, several of them seriously.

– Six of the injured are minors and two are said to be in a critical condition, says the governor Adam Rudawski.

According to the local police, the incident is not suspected to be an act of terrorism. Szczecin police spokesperson Pawel Pankau said the driver was a 33-year-old Polish citizen.

Pankau said there were no immediate indications that the suspect had been drinking alcohol or using drugs.

The incident happened at 3 pm on Friday. According to witnesses, the car arrived at high speed and crashed into people waiting for a tram in the center of the city of Szczecin.

The perpetrator fled the scene, but was later arrested on suspicion of a crime. The suspect driver crashed into four vehicles during his escape.
