Presentation of regional station broadcasts Radio Off Krakowin Poland, was entrusted to journalists created by artificial intelligence. Freelance journalist Mateusz Demski immediately denounced the creation of these three avatars. The radio had stopped collaborating with him in September: “ Just a few months ago, we were employees in the flesh, and today, three new presenters have been created with the help of artificial intelligence. So symbolically, we can say that we have been replaced by AI. »

A “ radio experimentation »

An accusation which the channel has formally defended. The director of the radio, Marcin Pulit, assures that it was above all a project intended to open the debate on the limits of the use of AI in Poland: “ Our radio experiment aims to add material to the discussion, and the experience gained will be included in legal decisions on the subject. »

But the experiment was cut short, since a petition demanding the removal of these avatar journalists gathered more than 17,000 signatures in 24 hours. Faced with general discontent, management announced that it would give up on Monday, barely a week after the start of the experiment.
