In the meantime, the Singelloop created a buzz in the center of Utrecht. At Ledig Erf there was a large crowd watching the running race, some of which were involuntary spectators. For example, one person said that she wanted to cross the street to go to the cinema, but that she had been waiting for at least half an hour. Still, enthusiasm prevailed and the runners were loudly cheered by the crowd.
